I had been wanting to buy my own camera for a while now, but instead I'll be contributing towards a new one for the family.
Me and my wonderful butter-fingers dropped our family camera about a month ago. It had been dropped many times before from far greater heights (and no, not always by me :-P). However, on this particular drop, it didn't "stick the landing."
So, I could either buy a the exact same one on eBay for $20, or UPGRADE! Thankfully, my dad consented to the latter.
After doing some research (although probably not as much as I should have done :-P), I talked my dad into a 12x optical zoom, 8mp Canon PowerShot S5 IS. We should receive it in a week or so...and I think I'm going to invest in a neck strap. ;-)

5 people bored enough to comment:

Yeah, it's truly amazing what you can find browsing through our old pictures...I'm just hope this one doesn't scare anybody. :P
What she's not telling you is that I'm actually the one who broke it. It won't even turn on now.
LOL -- I love the picture, too :-)
Hey, what is the use of something if you can't break it?
Oooh! Canons are the best. Congratulations on your wonderful purchase.
